“Zé”, to his students
He started playing guitar at 13, on his own. He then trained at the Escola de Jazz Luís Villas Boas — Hot Club Portugal — with Vasco Agostinho, Nuno Ferreira and André Fernandes.
He holds a degree in Music Teaching from the Escola Superior de Educação de Lisboa. Guitarist first, teacher by training.

I'm taking guitar lessons at Atelier de Guitarra and I'm loving it. I had no prior knowledge of guitar and I've learned a lot. The learning has been at my own pace, which allows me to learn in a consolidated way. The teacher is excellent and I leave the lessons full of enthusiasm to continue learning and exploring. I highly recommend it!

My son V. wanted to learn to play the electric guitar and a friend recommended Atelier da Guitarra. He started lessons with Zé in October and it has been fantastic to see V.'s enthusiasm for learning! Zé is technically excellent, very friendly, calm and able to adapt to each student. We are very happy with our choice!
I'm merely a witness, having closely followed some students, family and friends… I always saw great enthusiasm in them, that feeling of “I can't miss class”, “How is it possible that I can already do this??”. The support was always focused on getting to know, adapting, teaching and motivating each one in the best way possible so they wouldn't get discouraged.
José is a 5-star guitarist and teacher: knowledgeable, professional, patient, cheerful, and with perfect pitch that never fails, much to the “despair” of those without that gift. He has a lot of patience and the ability to adapt to teaching those less gifted or beginners, as was my case. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to take lessons.
A fantastic experience with the world of music, guitar version, which I started in my late fifties. Zé always showed me total dedication, patience and motivation.
